Recycling sectors

E.K.AN. S.A. is organized in specialized treatment sectors, aiming for the complete and proper recycling procedure of W.E.E.E., as described below:

Sorting of appliances into groups and sub-groups according to the Presidential Decree 117/2004
Weighing and temporary storage of appliances in designated areas.
Removal and separate storage of hazardous substances and components ie. CFC’s ,capacitors,batteries ink etc.
Proper packing and temporary storage of these hazardous waste in specially designed areas.
Final dismantling of appliances and recovery of materials that can be reused.

Appliances or parts of appliances, after being cleaned of hazardous substances and components, are then passed through the production line for the recovery of material consisting of:

Shredder or ripper
Sorting stations
Intermediate separators (electromagnet, vibrating platform and ZZ air operated separators)
Granulator
Final separators (magnetic drum, eddy current, induction system and optical system).
Packaging, weighing and storage of materials that can be reused. (Ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, motors, plastic, glass
